Neal B. Glick’s practice focuses on commercial real estate transactions, development, zoning, environmental and land use matters, renewable energy, affordable housing, commercial lending and loan servicing. He represents developers, owners, individuals, lenders, land trusts and associations as well as community groups.
Prior to joining Coren Lichtenstein LLP, Neal was an environmental and commercial real estate attorney at several Boston law firms. He chaired the Business Law Group at Donovan Hatem, and created and chaired the Environmental Practice Group at Brown, Rudnick. He also served in the Office of General Counsel in the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Washington, D.C. Active in the community, Neal served as a Trustee of the Boston Architectural College, a Member of the Planning Board and the Wetlands Protection Committee in his hometown of Wellesley, and is currently counsel to the Wellesley Conservation Council.
- After foreclosure on a hospitality property, generating a premium price, obtained a 7-figure judgment in federal District Court on a “bad boy” guarantee.
- Defended a challenge to existing land-use restrictions and assisted a land trust in creating conservation restrictions.
- Addressed zoning and wetlands compliance in connection with the sale and financing of a major industrial property.
- Successfully opposed a 40B project proposed adjacent to sensitive environmental areas on behalf of a community group.
- Representation of solar EPC clients and host facilities, including the largest solar canopy project in New England, and practice before the Department of Public Utilities.
- On behalf of a major commercial land owner, successfully settled one of the most significant environmental disputes dealing with the Central Artery Project in Boston, Massachusetts.
- Authored enabling legislation and helped bring about the design and construction of one of the largest waterfront parks in the Northeast.
- Helped create historic environmental mitigation agreements for airport expansion between Massport, the City of Chelsea and local community groups.
- Represented local and national lenders on closings of construction and permanent loans ranging from major downtown office buildings to suburban retail facilities.
